Crochet Leg Warmer Slippers | Fashion

These are my latest creations! I really love how warm and comfy they are. They are pretty easy to make and can be done in a day if you have the time.

Materials:

2 skeins of medium weight yarn (one for slipper color one for leg warmer color	Tapestry needle & scissors
5.5 crochet hook and 6.5 crochet hook	Row Counter (Optional)

Abbreviations:

Ch – chain	Dc – double crochet
Fpdc – front post double crochet	Bpdc – back post double crochet
Mc – magic circle	Sl st – slip stitch
Dc2tog – double crochet decrease

Slipper Measurements:

Note: The # in Parenthesis () is how many stitches you will have at the end of that round.

Instructions:

Round 1: using 5.5 mm crochet hook, mc, ch 2, 11 dc into circle, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (12)

Round 2: ch 2, *fpdc around dc, dc in next dc stitch, repeat from * around, the last fpdc will be around the ch 2 from previous round, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (24)

Round 3: ch 2, *fpdc around next 6 dc, dc in next dc stitch, repeat from * around, the first ch 2 will count as your last dc, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (28)

Round 4: ch 2, fpdc around each stitch around, last fpdc will be around the ch 2 from previous round, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (28)

Round 5: ch 2, fpdc around each stitch around, last fpdc will be around both the last fpdc and the ch 2 from previous round, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (28)

(I recommend weaving in the starting yarn end so you don’t forget later.) Now repeat round 5 until the length is the same as the second column of the size measurement chart based on shoe size. DO NOT FASTEN OFF

I recommend using a row counter but if you do not have one just turn the slipper inside out and count the ridges and write down how many there are in order to make the second slipper the same size. Mine is size 6 so I worked 17 rounds.

This next section is worked in rows. You will work about 8 rows to add about 3" to your slipper.

Row 1: ch 2, dc in same stitch, fpdc around next 22 stitches, dc in next dc stitch, turn

Row 2: ch 2, dc in same stitch, bpdc around next 22 stitches, dc in next dc stitch, turn

Row 3 to 7: alternate rows 1 and 2 until about 3" to 3.5" are added (for smaller sizes use 3" and for larger sizes use 3.5") Make sure to write down how many rows you work in order to make second slipper the same size.

Now turn the slipper inside out and ch 1 then sl st the back seam together using both loops of the stitch, ch 1, sl st back up to the top then turn slipper right side out and continue for leg warmer. DO NOT FASTEN OFF

This section will be worked in the round.

Round 1: using 6.5 mm crochet hook, ch 2, dc evenly around with 12 dc in each side, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (30)

Round 2: ch 2, dc2tog twice, dc in next 21 stitches, dc2tog twice, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (26)

Round 3: ch 2, dc in same st and in each stitch around, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (26)

Round 4 to 10: repeat round 3 (or until desired height) fasten off and weave in ends

Round 11: turn inside out, join new color, ch 2, dc in same stitch and each stitch around, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (26)

Round 12: ch 2, dc in same stitch and each stitch around, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (26)

Round 13 to 25: repeat round 12 or until desired length, fasten off and weave in ends, fold down and scrunch a bit
