Materials:

Instructions:
Back panel – worked in the round:
Round 1: make magic circle, ch 2, 2 dc into circle, *ch 1, 3 dc into circle, rep from * twice ch 1 sl st to first chain, pull string to close circle
Round 2: ch 2, 2 dc into last ch 1 of last round, ch 1, [3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc , ch 1, in next ch 1 space] (corner), make another corner in next 2 ch 1 spaces, 3 dc, ch 1 in same ch 1 space as beginning, sl st to first chain
Round 3: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1, into last ch 1 of last round, *3 dc, ch 1, in each ch 1 space, corner in each corner ch 1 space, rep from *, end with 3 dc, ch 1, sl st to chain
Keep repeating round 3 until desired length and width – 20 rounds
Bottom of back panel – worked in rows:
Row 1: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1, into last ch 1 of last round, 3 dc, ch 1, in each ch 1 space, end with one dc in last ch 1 space, turn
Row 2: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1, in first ch 1 space, 3 dc, ch 1, in each ch 1 space, end with one dc into top of ch 2 from previous row, turn
Repeat until desired length – 4 rows, fasten off leaving a long enough tail to whip stitch side panel
Side panels – make 2 – worked in rows:
Row 1: work dc foundation of 68, turn
Row 3: ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch, *ch 1, 3 dc in each ch 1 space across, ending with 1 dc in last ch 1 space, turn
Repeat until desired width – 20 rows
Working with wrong side facing you, whipstitch side panels to back panel starting from bottom making sure to leave about 7” left undone for sleeve holes – work needle through front stitch of panel facing you and backstitch of other panel (there are photo instructions in the pdf version)
Whipstitch top of shoulders from corner to about 6 ½” from neck opening – work needle through front stitch of panel facing you and backstitch of other panel
Top collar:
Row 1: with inside of back facing out, join yarn into the top corner of collar, ch 2, dc evenly across to back panel, 1 dc in each stitch and ch 1 space of back panel, dc evenly across other panel, turn
Row 2: ch 2, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc, repeat across, turn
Row 3: repeat row 2, fasten off and weave in ends
Bottom hem:
Row 1: with inside facing out, join yarn into bottom end, ch 2, dc evenly across to back panel, 1 dc in each stitch and ch 1 space of back panel, dc evenly across other panel, turn
Row 2: ch 2, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc, repeat across, turn
Row 3: repeat row 2, fasten off and weave in ends
Sleeves:
Row 1: join yarn to bottom of sleeve with sweater right side out into the ch 1 space on the left of the seam, ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1 in each ch 1 space around with 1 dc into center of the top seam, sl st to top of ch 2
Row 2: ch 2, dc into last ch of last round, ch 1, 3 dc into each ch 1 space, sl st to top of ch 2
Row 3: skip first ch 1 space then repeat row 2
Row 4 to 28: repeat row 2
Row 5: ch 2, dc in each stitch around including ch 1 spaces, sl st to top of ch 2
Row 6: ch 2, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc, repeat across, sl st to top of ch 2
Row 7: repeat row 6, fasten off and weave in ends
For the two ties, I chained 40 chains and attached them to where it felt comfortable for me and put a wooden bead at the bottom of both.
