Crochet Virus Shawl | Fashion

I finally made the famous virus shawl and I love how it came out!

To order one to be custom made you can visit my Etsy Shop.

I used 3 skeins of Cascade Cherub Aran Sparkle Yarn in color 207 and 6 skeins of Air Breeze, Polyester/ Acrylic Yarn in color 15 Silver Bells.
I held two strands of yarn together of the Air Breeze yarn because it’s really thin. These two yarns work very well together, they are both soft yarn and the way the finished shawl drapes is just perfect.
I added a tie to both sides in the front to make it more like a cape or open poncho. It’s actually very warm despite the open work of the pattern.

I worked 51 rows of the main pattern then one row of single crochet all the way around the whole piece with the Silver Bells color then one more single crochet with the cascade yarn.
It measures approximately 84″ across the top and approximately 36″ from top to bottom of the middle of the shawl.
For the two ties, I chained 40 chains and added a wooden bead then attached it to each side to where it fits my liking.
There are many other ways to do the edging on ravelry.com but I just did a simple single crochet edge.

You can find the pattern on Ravelry, it's a graph pattern so if you have any questions or comments please leave them below. I would love to see your creations as well!
