Materials Needed:
Medium Weight Yarn – I used I love this yarn! By Hobby Lobby
4.5 mm crochet hook 2 Stitch Markers or 2 pieces of contrasting color yarn Scissors Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations Used:
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Fl – front loop
Bl – back loop
Sl st – slip stitch
St(s) – stitch(es)
Instructions:
Ch 7
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, & in each ch across
Row 2: ch 1, sc in bl of same st & each st across
Row 3: ch 1, sc in both loops of each st across
Row 4 – 22: repeat rows 2 & 3
Now sl st ends together in fl of last row and free loops of 1st row – I ended up with 12 ridges including the joining ridge.
Now you will work in the round placing a stitch marker in 1st st made in every round.
Round 1: ch 1, sc in each sc row working a sc decrease in last two rows DO NOT JOIN – 21 stitches
Round 2: *sc & dc in bl of first sc from round 1, skip next st, repeat from * around
Round 3: sc & dc in bl of each dc st around moving stitch marker up as you go
Round 4: repeat round 3 Do not turn
Sc in each sc row down the side of cuff and sl st to 1st sc made down the side of cuff.
Now sl st ends together in fl of last row and free loops of 1st row to close cuff – I ended up with 12 ridges including the joining ridge.
Now you will work in the round placing a stitch marker in 1st st made in every round.
Round 5: sc & dc in bl of next dc, ch 3 skip next 3 stitches (you should have skipped a sc then dc then sc), sc & dc in bl of next dc st and bl of each dc st around
Round 6: sc & dc in bl of next dc st around to ch 3 space, sc & dc in ch 3 space, sc & dc in bl of each dc st around
Round 7: sc & dc in bl of each dc st around
Round 8: skip 1st sc made from last round & sc in next dc & each st around, sl st & fasten off. Weave in ends.
You can leave the thumb hole or close it a little which is what I like to do.
Join yarn in the corner of the thumb hole and sc evenly around for 2 rounds or more if you choose. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Follow the same instructions for the right glove until you get to round 5. This time sc & dc in bl of next 7 dc stitches, ch 3, skip next 3 stitches (you should have skipped a sc then dc then sc), sc & dc in bl of next dc st and bl of last two dc sts around, then follow instructions from round 6 and on.
